I am in India. It sucks. Don't ever come to India for medical school if you don't like things to suck. Cause they WILL.

My school blocks livejournal. Which is why I'm posting here. I'm surprised they don't block this place too. But they don't.

I broke my scanner on the way over too. Well... I think I fried it, actually. When I tried to plug it in with just the adapter and no transformer. Cause it's 240 V here and my scanner is 110 V so you'd need to buy a current convertor to use it. But see, everything else I own, my computer, my mp3 player, etc is 240V so all you need is an adapter so that the prongs of the plug actually fit in the outlet. So I thought it would be the same for my scanner. But see... it wasn't.

So now I can't scan art. Not that I have much time to do art. Hence, the suckiness. That and the generally impossiblity of everything here. You can't do things easily. Everything takes a whole lot of planning and nothing ever happens on time.

India's generally like that as a whole.

No internet in my hostel room yet, either. Have to use the library wi-fi, hence the blocking of livejournal.

That's it, nothing more to complain about.

Oh, except that the food really sucks. It really does. It's alright, I guess... but... ugh, I can't eat this shit every day. My mom makes it tons better. And it's not like there's even a salad bar here so that I can just eat light, have myself a garden salad. They don't have salads here. Lettuce browns in like half a day here.

Oh, and everyone speaks Hindi. Like all my classmates and everyone (they're all from the US too). And they watch Hindi movies and listen to Hindi music and watch Hindi serials. It's cause they come from places with huge populations of Indians, like California, and Jersey and Texas and there're a few from Chicago and Tennessee. I'm from Oregon.... there aren't that many Indians in Oregon, and there's even fewer in the little town I'm from. Plus my family is not even North Indian, we're South Indian, so we don't speak Hindi at home, so I don't know it. I feel kind of left out. Definitely don't fit in around here.

Also, we'd have to drive one and a half hours to get to a movie theater. I didn't get to watch Superman Returns or Pirates of the Carribean before I left the states and now I can't cause I don't have time to drive one and a half hours to watch a movie.
